Urdiendo Ritmos

Urdiendo Ritmos was born from the desire to rescue the technique of extracting and weaving sansevieria fiber, essential to the Mayan artisanal identity. Taller Maya revives the designs of Héctor Zamora by integrating this technique into a new collection of hammocks, inspired by his 2017 collaboration with Fundación TAE.

Hector Zamora

Héctor Zamora is a contemporary artist known for his work in public space interventions and large-scale urban works with social criticism. He lived from 2007 to 2016 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 2016 to 2020 in Lisbon, and since 2020 he has been living and working in Mexico City.

She questions the relationships established between space, materials and the body. Although her projects are generally linked to public space, her work explores and disrupts the cultural, physical and corporal dynamics that occur both in the public and private spheres.
