Who We Are
Who are we?
We are a collective of Mayan artisans from the Yucatan Peninsula, organized as Taller Maya. Our hands and knowledge preserve ancestral techniques that we have inherited from generation to generation. Since 2002, with the initial support of the Haciendas del Mundo Maya Foundation, we have strengthened ourselves as creators and entrepreneurs, managing our own artisan projects.
Through creative collaboration, we fuse our traditional knowledge with contemporary designs, bringing to life unique pieces that tell our stories. We work under fair trade principles, ensuring that our work is fairly valued and that the benefits go directly to our families and communities.
Our collections, created in collaboration with artists and designers, are a bridge between our Mayan heritage and the contemporary world. Each piece we create not only represents our living culture, but also ensures the economic sustainability of our artisan communities.

We are a B Corporation that has been working with artisans from the Yucatan Peninsula since 2002, merging Mayan tradition with contemporary design. We promote the rescue and sustainable work of 14 artisan techniques in 32 communities, and we link them to fair trade chains.

We are certified by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) thanks to our commitment to sustainability and fair trade. We promote agroecological practices and the use of sustainable materials in collaborative artisanal design pieces, strengthening social enterprises that improve lives through a fair economy.
